Pope Francis

Dear Parishioners of St John the Baptist and Our Lady of the Assumption,

As many of you already know, but The Vicar of Christ, Pope Francis passed away on April 21 in Rome at 7:35am.

He served as The Bishop of Rome from March 13, 2013 - April 21, 2025, almost 12 full years.

His Papacy will be remembered as one focused on the Mercy of Christ, calling on all people to encounter the love of God, especially the poor and marginalized, and urged the Church to embrace its missionary identity.
